Living, Active and Thriving, We Overcome!

The Lord’s word is living and active. (Hebrews 4:12). When you declare it by faith over your situation and circumstances, they must obey and align with His word. I have written before about creation. Here is a link to that post and the video on that topic. Today I will write more on how to overcome in any negative circumstance and situation you may be going through. It is a matter of your words, your faith, and your identity in Christ and not of the circumstances or situation coming against you that is causing confusion, pain or fear. (1John 4:4).

Faith

Faith is the evidence of things not seen and the substance of things hoped for. (Hebrews 11:1).  Hope is always positively geared beyond our circumstances and towards God’s goodness for us. We never hope for evil for ourselves but instead our hearts, minds and sometimes even our imaginations carry visions of those good things we hope for ourselves and our loved ones. But hope alone is no sufficient to see what we desire in our lives. It is not sufficient to change our negative circumstances and situation. The Bible says that hope differed makes the heart grow sick. (Proverbs 13:12). Depression, anxiety and other negative situations can become a reality where our hope does not match our circumstances for an extended period of time.

This happened to me from the age of 7. I had hoped for better things for a while, being made aware of God’s existence at an early age but lived in circumstances and had experiences that were greatly removed from my hopes and the visions of goodness I held in my heart. Unaware of the next steps as a child, I developed depression and anxiety and wished for death. For a long time, I felt that only death could unite me with what I knew was good beyond this world. Jesus. But Jesus had other plans for me.

You see, hope needs faith to sustain it, and faith is not a stationary, stagnant or inactive entity but it is an active representation of what we believe. It is demonstrated in our actions, the words we speak and the thoughts we allow to remain unquestioned. Faith is based on the knowledge of who Christ is for us, who we are in Christ and what He says about us. Our circumstances must bow to His presence, power and rule in our lives! Jesus demonstrated this principle perfectly while on the Earth. He hoped, had faith and put into action what He believed and knew. The result was the salvation of all who would come to Him. He laid out a masterful blueprint for us to follow and showed us what it meant to be children of Abraham and of the promise. (Galatians 3:6-9).

Identity

Why you? Why me? Why do we get to have hope, faith and see our active faith move mountains? Because of who we are. We are what God made us and declared us to be. (2Corinthians 5:16 - 21). His children. We are heirs of a powerful promise made to Abraham. (Genesis 22:16 - 18). We are the offspring and result of a beautiful friendship between God and Abraham based on a plan God had before Abraham existed. (Ephesians 1:3 - 14).  This plan was to seek and save the lost through the finished work of Christ. (1Peter 1:19-20 & Luke 19: 9,10). Friend, brother, sister, we who believe in that finished work of Christ have become the righteousness of God in Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are the redeemed! We are the chosen! We are the righteousness of God in Christ! This makes us eligible for hope, faith and the overturning of everything that hinders us from our God given identity, fruit and testimony in Him!

Word

The word is a person. In John 1, and starting from verse 1, we learn that in the beginning the Word created the universe as written in Genesis chapter 1. The Word created man in His own image. (Genesis 1). When we look in the mirror, we are looking at a reflection of what the word is. The word is Jesus who became flesh and lived among us. This may blow our mind, but God is in the habit of walking with His creation. It is His thing. We belong to Him and He loves walking and talking with us as it was in the beginning. This is nothing new. When the living Word, Jesus comes to live in us, we have made a choice to be saved by the power source that created us in the beginning! We are renewed, restored and made a new creation! (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our work is not finished yet, as long as we are alive in this body. We now have to bring this body and the world circumstances around us into submission to the living word of God inside us. This is what is said in the Lord’s prayer. “Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”. (Mathew 6:10). We are gateways to and from heaven! The Holy spirit can empower us to open His gateway in our lives as we dwell in Christ and His word. By knowing who we are in Christ, proclaiming, and speaking accordingly, we align our lives with His word and desire for us. When we have faith and demonstrate this in our thoughts, words and deeds, we will see the physical world shift before our eyes as it did in the beginning when God said, let there be light”. (Genesis 1:3).

Breakthrough

Breakthrough in the spiritual and physical world is God’s will for us. (Ephesians 1:3). He said we should bear much fruit and our fruit will remain. He said He is the true vine and through Him we bear much fruit. (John 15). He said that the talents He has given to us must be utilised to its fullest by faith and bear much return. (Mathew 25: 14 – 30). This is God’s will for you and me. Fruitful abundance of His resources in our lives and the lives of those around us. We are vessels, gateways and doorways of His own power and presence! We are purposely built to carry His power and presence with us and to let that power and presence flow out of us unto the world around us. (John 7:38). This is breakthrough! This is living in the Spirit and not in the world where resources are scares and limited, where moth and rust corrupt and where the enemy steals and destroys. We are Children of the Kingdom of God. Our identity and purpose is to bring His rule into the atmosphere around us and let his unlimited resources flow through us to a world that is in peril. We are not alone. We are surrounded and equipped in God for this work if we abide daily in Him and are filled and flowing with His presence.

Conclusion

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10). Faith is required to proceed. This is step one. This faith engages the good hopes you have for yourself and your life which are interwoven in the very core of your being and linked to your purpose. In Isaiah 29:11, the Lord says He thinks good thoughts towards you and wants to give you the desires of your hearts. These are the good desires of your heart that He embedded in you when He made you. Those desires point you to your maker. They are a homing beacon that guides you to Him because only through and by Him can you manifest them. Your manifestation of the greatness God has put in you is your testimony and your testimony is mighty in God! (Revelations 12:11).

I put faith as the first step because faith that God is real and good supersedes your decision to follow Him and let Him into your heart. Before the prayer of salvation is said, there has been a realisation and recognition of God and His goodness. This is what will lead His people that He is calling to repentance, and this births the new identity and creation that has immense God given power flowing through your veins to conquer the enemy, the world and your own struggles, trials and tests. Remember, God is for you and if God be for you, how can you fail? (Romans 8:31). You cannot if you believe, know who you are in Christ and by faith, obediently take the actions He puts before you. It is His strength that will empower you when you obey so do not worry or be afraid. (Philippians 4:13).

Breakthrough is yours! Abundance is yours! Love is yours and God will never stop His goodness to you! He is not limited so don’t limit Him in you! If you have never said the prayer of salvation, say the below prayer and let me know here on this blog, or on my insta that you have become my brother or sister. I love you with the Love of Christ. Let’s connect and grow together. God bless you, favoured and treasured child of God. Amen.

“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love for me, for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for all my sins. His precious blood washes me clean. You raised Him from the dead. He’s alive today. And I thank You all my sins are forgiven. I’m righteous by the blood. I’m under God’s favour. And I thank You Father that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life from this day forth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
