Sons and Daughters Inherit, Not Robots or Fallen Angels

Writer: Audra OakesAudra Oakes

Like Asimov’s three laws of robotics, angels had the laws of God, including morality, hard-wired into them at their creation. On the other hand, man was not hardwired with this knowledge. Man was a clean slate until he acquired this knowledge through the 'tree of the knowledge of good and evil'. The enemy, disguised as a serpent knew this. He had been condemned by this very knowledge he carried, and had rebelled against. He introduced man to this knowledge, knowing he was not designed to keep it. Read Genesis chapter one, two, and three.

The attack on man was actually an attack on God. The enemy had failed in his rebellion to usurp God's power and throne, and so he sought another way to destroy God’s image. He went after God's sons and daughters, those who were created to bare God’s express image. This may have been the act that sealed his fate as forever judged and condemned.

After acquiring the knowledge of good and evil, man could not remain in paradise due to the presence of the 'tree of life' because if man had also eaten of the tree of life, he would have lived forever in a condemned state, as the fallen. This, no doubt was a part of the enemy’s plan to seal the fate of man by utterly destroying God’s cherished creations, His sons and daughters. If man had eaten of the tree of life in this state, he would have remained condemned forever because he would believe that he could save himself through morality, the law or his own fallen devices. On his own, man could never attain the standard of life God intended him to live. He would have been perpetually bound in darkness, pain, and utter devastation. Since he could not die, he would not repent.

Even the evil of the demons in hell would not compare to the evil of men who would live forever, rebellious and unrepentant to God, yet still baring the image of God. Man would have become an abomination; an utterly corrupted life form who’s bearing and design is to be like God but who had become the essence of evil. Man would have completely lost the ability to repent. Because man was stopped from eating from the tree of life, his soul was saved. Man could confess fault and receive grace and forgiveness, something the fallen could never do. The ability to come to God, confess and be forgiven is a privilege which is understated, overlooked and ignored by far too many.

The difference between man, and the fallen is that when man disobeyed God to gain the knowledge of the angels, he did not know or understand the consequences of his decisions and actions. Conversely, when the fallen disobeyed God’s laws that had been hardwired into them when created, they had full knowledge of the consequences of their rebellion. The fallen had no grievance with God’s rule. God is the perfect, right, and ultimate ruler and authority. God is love, light, good, and everything that is right. The fallen simply sought to usurp His throne and power because in their pride, they had became rebellious. They coveted what was not theirs to have, and scorned their purpose and rightful, honourable positions in service to the highest creator of the universe! The fallen wanted what was not theirs, God’s throne. They are the origin of rebellion. Heed the warning of pride. It comes before a fall.

Man is saved through Christ alone once he repents and turns to God. He is afforded a new life, and becomes a new creation who lives by God’s grace which supersedes the law. Grace, not the law is hardwired into the born again man as He is transformed day by day in the knowledge of the living Word that lives in Him and empowers him to obey, through the Holy Spirit. Unlike the law that has not been imbued with the power to transform the heart of man, and empower his adherence to the law, Grace is a person who comes and lives in the sons and daughters of God, empowering them to live by grace. Faith gives us access to this grace and to the Holy Spirit which is the indwelling power source of all who have become born again. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are so blessed.

If you have not yet believed in Jesus, know this. You were not created as the fallen. You were not created as a robot that was hard hardwired to comply and obey. You were created to be innocent. You were created with the ability and right to choose. You were created to be loved, and even when your choice failed you, a way was made for your salvation. That way is Jesus. This is where we belong. With Jesus. We are born to live forever in His light and love. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Saviour and would like the power in you that overcomes the world, enabling you to live in the Grace that superseded the world, the law, and death, say the prayer below and be transported into a new life in the Kingdom of God.

Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and wrong choices. I choose to change my mind of rebellion towards you. I choose your love. I choose to receive your sacrifice for my rebellion. I choose to accept your finished work on the cross for me. I choose you. Come into my heart and my life. I confess you are my Lord and Saviour from this day forward. Turn my life into a living testimony and may I bear your name, image and glory now and for all eternity. In Jesus name. Amen

If you prayed the prayer above, please reach out to me. I would love to answer any questions you may have, and walk beside you on this journey of faith of being transformed to glory, daily. May the Lord bless and keep you. May His face shine upon you. May the Lord grant you abundant peace, rest, and healing, and may He be glorified in your life, the lives of your loved ones and in everything you do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
